Course Description
Section I — The Makki Period (104 Lectures)
Objective: To understand the purpose and importance of Seerah and apply its lessons to moral choices. Develops clarity of values and strengthens identity, and relates pre-Islamic Arabia’s conditions to modern challenges.
- Introduction to Seerat — definition, importance, and objectives of learning Seerah
- Historical context of the Arabian Peninsula in the years of Prophet Ibrahim AS (Arabia before Islam — political, social, and religious conditions)
- Birth, lineage & early life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — signs of prophethood
- Revelation begins — first wahi, spiritual preparation & mission definition
- The early call to Islam — private da‘wah & first converts
- Public declaration of the message — Quraysh opposition & early persecution
- Aws and Khazraj; Quraysh make offers and demands
- Wonderment and hope, and the family divisions
- The Hour and the Three Questions
- The persecution of the early Muslims — the story of Sayyiduna Bilal (RA)
